Other than that there is no real story connection between DOS and DOS 2 (for now I guess).
Sorry I think I said it in a wrong way xD I meant that the only thing that connects them storywise is Source. I wouldn't rule out both games not being connected, until they actually release DoS 2, or until a Dev says otherwise I guess. In the first game, you're literally Source Hunters, while in the second game (as of now), you're Source users, and it's still shunned upon. I've been working on beating DoS EE, because after completing Act 1 of DoS 2, I was curious because the two games were actually connected, even if the games are a 1000 years apart as someone mentioned. We have every game from the GOG.com catalog available to download for free. The only thing that connects them "now", is what you mean. Also, the Sourcerer King Braccus Rex who is mentioned in Divinity: Original Sin 2 appears in Divinity: Original Sin as the final boss of the first map.
